From 1960 to 1973 Clyde was owner operator of the Hatchery in Adams, Gage County, Nebraska.33 He bought the chicken hatchery when Maurice Burnham retired. He operated the hatchery until 1973 and closed it when farming in the community changed and raising chickens were no longer a part of the family farms in the area. From 1971 to 1983 he was Nebraska department of roads employee in Adams, Gage County, Nebraska.33 He died on 18 November 1998 at the age of 82 in Adams, Gage County, Nebraska. He was buried in Highland Cemetery, Adams, Gage County, Nebraska.
