111. Ted Roger Kroese was born on 21 November 1943 in Cook, Johnson County, Nebraska. He graduated in 1962 from Cook High School, in Cook, Johnson County, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska in 1967 with a BS degree in education and a commission the United States Air Force. He attended the United States Air force pilot training school in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona, graduated and was assigned to an F-100 fighter aircraft group in Vietnam in 1968. He served another Southeast Asia tour of duty in F-4 fighter aircraft group at Korea, Thailand. He then spent nearly nine years in the European Theater flying F-15 fighter aircraft at Soesterberg Air Base in the Netherlands and a tour of duty at Bitburg Air Base in West Germany. He attended several United States Air Force Officer Courses/Colleges and served as the Chief of Fighter Assignments at the Air Force Personnel Center at Randolph Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Bear County, Texas. He served 21 years in the United States Air Force as a fighter pilot and retired in 1988 as a Lt. Colonel. Upon his retirement from the USAF he was employed with McDonnell Douglas as as a flight simulator instructor teaching USAF pilots how to fly his favorite plane, the F-15. After his retirement from Boeing, his favorite pastimes included being outdoors, operating heavy machinery, and spending time with his family. He received a Masters Degree in Management from Webster University.
Ted Roger Kroese and Doris Ann West were married in 1965 in Syracuse, Otoe County, Nebraska. They were divorced before 1980. Doris Ann West, daughter of Elmo West and Dorothy West*, was born on 28 August 1946.
