89. Henry John Kroese was born on 24 April 1920 on the family farm in the Pella community, rural Adams, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He received his elementary education at the Pella country School, in the Pella community, rural Adams, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He graduated in 1938 from Panama High School in Panama, Lancaster County, Nebraska. Henry served in the United States Army in the European theater of World War II. He graduated from Grand Island Business School, in Grand Island, Hall County, Nebraska. He died on 18 July 1987 at the age of 67 in Waverly, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He died of injuries received from being hit by a train while walking home at night from a quick stop market in Waverly, Nebraska. He was buried in Lincoln Memorial Park, Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. He owned and operated a Ford auto and farm equipment dealership in Humbolt, Nebraska for several years. He then owned and operated a Ford auto and John Deere farm equipment dealership in Hebron, Nebraska. Later in life he became interested in agronomy and worked with the development of hybrid seed at the Miller Seed Company and the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska.

Henry John Kroese and Gwendolyn Mitchell were married on 2 June 1944 in Humbolt, Richardson County, Nebraska. They started married life in Humbolt,Nebraska. They owned and operated the Ford dealership there. Henry managed the business and Gwen was the bookkeeper. Gwendolyn Mitchell, daughter of Benjamin Mitchell and Opal Bateson, was born on 2 June 1922 in Severy, Greewood County, Kansas. She graduated from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska. She died on 1 February 2012 at the age of 89 . Later in life she sold real estate and worked for the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. She is retired and living in Waverly, Nebraska
